NEET PG Cut off News: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences has released the revised cutoff for NEET PG 2024 counseling. Now, the revised minimum eligibility criterion for the general category is 25 percentile, which was previously 50 percentile. The revised cutoff score out of 800 is 201. Similarly, for the General EWS category, the revised percentile is 20, and the cutoff score is 186. For SC/ST/OBC categories, the revised percentile is 15, and the cutoff marks are 169. Candidates who have become eligible after reducing the percentile will have to register again with the new series and participate in the PG counseling 2024 choice filling and MOP-UP round, which will be conducted as per the schedule.

The Central Government decided to reduce the cutoff percentile for admissions to PG medical courses for the academic session 2023-24, keeping in mind the large number of vacant seats in the NEET PG counseling conducted for the previous academic session. After this decision, the new cutoff was issued. Further details can be found by referring to official announcements or updates.

Failed NEET students can pursue the MBBS course in various countries. In India, acquiring a medical license involves completing the MBBS course and passing the licensing exam.

In the previous academic session, around 1,400 seats remained vacant mainly in pre and para-clinical subjects. Since leaving such postgraduate seats empty leads to wastage of resources in a country, it was decided to reduce the cutoff percentile for admissions to postgraduate courses by up to 25 percentile for 2024. The NMC recommended reducing the eligibility percentile for postgraduate courses in a meeting held on October 14, 2024.

This year, the NEET PG exam was held on May 21, and the result was declared on June 1.
