UP News B.Sc Nursing studies will start in 27 new medical colleges in the state. After getting the green signal from the central government, now nursing colleges will be opened in the premises of these medical colleges. All these medical colleges have been built by upgrading district hospitals.
State Bureau, Lucknow: B.Sc Nursing studies will start in 27 new medical colleges in the state. After getting the green signal from the central government, now nursing colleges will be opened in the premises of these medical colleges. All these medical colleges have been built by upgrading district hospitals. Initially, up to 60 seats of B.Sc Nursing will be recognized. Further seats will be increased as per the need. At present, students will get relief from this, they will get a chance to study this course in their own district.
It may be mentioned that out of 27 new medical colleges, this course will be started first in the five district hospitals which were upgraded to medical colleges in the first phase. This includes Medical Colleges of Basti, Bahraich, Shahjahanpur, Ayodhya and Firozabad. MBBS course was started here from the academic session 2019-20.
Whereas, in the second phase, nine district hospitals were upgraded to medical colleges. They include Etah, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Ghazipur, Mirzapur and Jaunpur. Here also MBBS course studies have started from the year 2021-22.
On the other hand, the 13 medical colleges to be started in the third phase from this year 2023-24 include Bijnor, Kushinagar, Sultanpur, Gonda, Lalitpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Chandauli, Bulandshahr, Sonbhadra, Pilibhit, Auraiya, Kaushambi of Kanpur Dehat. .
According to Principal Secretary, Medical Education, Alok Kumar, to meet the need of doctors as well as nursing staff for hospitals and medical colleges, the study of B.Sc Nursing course is being promoted. This is the reason why efforts are being made to open nursing colleges in all government medical colleges. Mission Niramaya: is already being run to enhance the quality of education in nursing colleges.
